Kenfig Nature Reserve Interpretation Boards

The Brief

Bridgend County Borough Council Rural Development section reach have secured National Resources Wales and Rural Development Plan funds to commission a designer to produce innovative interpretation signs to be displayed in the South Hide and the Visitor Centre in Kenfig National Nature Reserve.

The Interpretation should be designed to eventually be printed on A1 Aluminium Signs that will be produced by BCBC in a separate budget to this brief. They will also be displayed electronically on large TV Screens (>40 inch).

Kenfig National Nature Reserve comprises approximately 1300 acres of managed coastal sand dunes and wetlands and is regarded as one of the finest examples of a sand dune habitat in Europe. It is regularly used by walkers, dog walkers, horse riders and wildlife enthusiasts, but few really understand the wild and vast extent of the site; The link with the Wales Coastal Path that runs through the Reserve is underutilised; many local people are unaware of this fantastic natural resource on their doorstep.

All work was completed within a tight timeframe and on budget.
